Selon les informations de « Jeune Afrique », les fondateurs du service de « cash to goods », société en développement à Paris depuis 2014 dont le lancement officiel est prévu le 28 juin, ont signé avec les supermarchés Casino au Sénégal.
Après le développement d’une plateforme d’e-commerce sous la marque Cdiscount en partenariat avec le groupe Bolloré en Côte d’Ivoire, au Sénégal et au Cameroun, Casino se lance dans le « cash to goods » au Sénégal. Du nom de cette famille de services qui permettent aux diasporas de régler directement des dépenses alimentaires, de santé ou encore de scolarité pour des proches restés sur le continent.
D’après les informations de Jeune Afrique, Stéphane Poutcheu, le président de la start-up française Money to Goods, en gestation depuis 2014 et dont le lancement interviendra le 28 juin, a signé un accord exclusif en mai avec Christophe Petit, directeur général de Casino Sénégal.
L’accord prévoit que les 7 supermarchés de l’enseigne au Sénégal deviendront les seuls représentants de la grande distribution sur la place de marché en ligne, et s’ajouteront aux 100 petits détaillants démarchés au Sénégal par la douzaine de commerciaux de Money To Goods.
Money To Goods indique avoir été en discussions avec la chaîne Atac (groupe Auchan), au Sénégal depuis 2015 et déjà associé à autre acteur du « cash to goods » Afrimarket. Des discussions qui n’ont pas donné suite, Casino ayant demandé un partenariat exclusif, expliquent les responsables de la start-up.
160 000 euros levés
Money To Goods a levé environ 160 000 euros auprès de la Banque publique d’investissement (BPI) via le label French Tech, et aussi auprès du Réseau Entreprendre, l’association française de soutien aux créateurs d’entreprises. Elle compte parmi les cinq premières sociétés du nouvel incubateur des diasporas africaines en Europe, Afrobytes.
Cet incubateur lancé en septembre 2015 entend, depuis Paris où il est implanté, aider au développement de sociétés des diasporas africaines en Europe, puis à leur implantation sur le continent. Pour ce faire, il entend lever trois millions d’euros dans un premier temps et héberger une série de cinq premières start-up dans les domaines du tourisme, du bâtiment et de la santé.
Hormis Afrobytes, l’identité des autres start-up inclues dans cette liste n’a pas encore été divulguée.
Casino est déjà implanté dans plusieurs pays d’Afrique à travers des accords de franchise : avec le groupe Mabrouk en Tunisie notamment ; et dans plusieurs pays d’Afrique subsaharienne avec le groupe Mercure International Monaco (MIM) au Sénégal, au Gabon, au Cameroun, au Congo, et en Côte d’Ivoire.
